Death and Drowning
The cold tendrils spearing from the water seep into me as I try to choke in a breath.
I can’t.
I can’t.
Can’t seem to find air,
So I gasp and stutter and teeter on the verge of life,
Just right before the unrelenting, yawning chamber of death comes to claim me.
Lost souls.
If not that what am I?
Who am I?
Just another dead body added to the never ending stream of names, lost.
Lost to where?
We never know, but always yearn to learn, to seek, to find, what is it?
What is it?
What is it, that everyone seeks?
Death, I welcome you,
Find me and take me to my final peace.
Have I found you, oh mystery creature,
Find me, find me, find me,
Is it I that you seek?
